Free screening of Art21’s Season 8 Episode: Chicago featuring artists Theaster Gates, Nick Cave, Barbara Kasten, and Chris Ware. Chicago is a city rooted in industry and architecture, and artists in Chicago are disrupting urban experience through experimentation.

Artists discuss their lives and how they are actually “making it work” in the real world. An informal discussion and Q&A, speaking directly about the experiences they have had, both positive and negative, and how they support themselves in parallel jobs, while maintaining their core studio practice. Susan Schear sheds light on the arts landscape for emerging artists with a special focus on the Newark arts scene. Susan Schear is an arts consultant, president and founder of ARTSIN, an organization dedicated to helping artists and arts organizations realize their professional and strategic goals, and Deputy Director of the Newark Arts Council.
Portfolio Review & Art Resource Fair Saturday, March 4, 2017 @ 1pm-4pm
This free portfolio review session provides artists with an opportunity to get feedback on their work from industry professionals. This feedback may relate to aesthetics or general advice about career management. Bookings for the Portfolio Review will begin in February. More details and location to come.

Books and related materials available for reading in the Robeson Campus Center Gallery. The books cover issues of being an artist, including overviews of how to manage your career, living a creative life, art history & theory, and sources of inspiration.
