Public Programs

In the spirit of Paul Robeson himself, the gallery network is dedicated to an urban mission with an activist approach.  This commitment includes organizing exhibitions and public programs on local, regional, and international contemporary art and culture, as well as developing civic partnerships through community outreach programs.  Our aim is to initiate cross-disciplinary and civic dialogues as ways of strengthening the bonds between art, education, and democracy.

The Paul Robeson Galleries strives to bring high-quality, free, and accessible public programming such as concerts, lectures, and artist talks to help enrich the lives of those who are part of the Rutgers, Newark, and Greater Newark communities.

All programs are free and open to the public.
